Rudi Sprügel

Born and raised in Hohenlohe. Started in 1989 with the idea of optimally equipping all clubs between the Jagst and Kocher rivers with sports articles. Rudi Sprügel has not only laid the foundation for a successful family business. He is a team player at heart and stands for down-to-earth, value-oriented entrepreneurship. At the same time, Rudi sees his success as an obligation to be socially committed and to pass on the sporting spirit to the next generation.

Foundation purpose

The Rudi Sprügel Foundation promotes projects in sport, especially in football and youth work. This includes the promotion of sporting exercises as well as offers of movement-oriented youth (social) work, the promotion of athletes and the implementation of sport-oriented events. Furthermore, the foundation supports the training and further education of trainers and the establishment, construction, operation and expansion of sports facilities. In addition, the foundation cooperates with educational institutions and youth social work facilities.

The start of the Rudi Sprügel Foundation

Company founder Rudi Sprügel changed from Chairman of the Board of JAKO AG to Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The establishment of the Rudi Sprügel Foundation was announced during this generational change event on 16 September 2022.

The new board of JAKO AG, consisting of Nadine Sprügel, Yvonne Sprügel, Markus Frank and Tobias Röschl, handed over a donation cheque from JAKO AG for 100,000 euros. Together with donations from employees as well as business partners, this laid the basis for the foundation's work.

"The promotion of sport, youth work and clubs has always been very close to my heart. The foundation gives me the opportunity to support specific projects and to give something back to the region where I have grown up with JAKO. I would like to thank the board of JAKO AG and all the generous donors for their support and I am very pleased to be able to make a contribution to the promotion of sport in the region with the foundation in the future," said Rudi Sprügel.
